  • Security

We have secure entry and exit procedures in place so that only authorized staff and families may enter. Our check in/out system and Visitor Policy are very reliable. Safe, secure perimeters ensure that children can enjoy outdoor play safely. Our premises are equipped with smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. Radiators and heaters are temperature controlled to prevent your child from touching something hot.

    Sanitation

We clean our premises each day with safe, non-toxic cleaning products. Cleaning supplies are locked safely out of reach of children. We sanitise toys throughout the day to help prevent the spread of infection. We encourage children to wash their hands throughout the day by chanting appropriate rhymes, displaying signs and during lessons about health and hygiene. Nappy changing is conducted in the areas separated from children’s play areas.

    Playground

Our Safety-Certified Outdoor Playground which is completely wrapped in secure fencing with several exit gates for security. Our outdoor equipment is safe, sturdy and tested regularly. Our playground is a safe fall zone with soft landing area if your child takes a tumble.

    Wellness

We assess every child’s health by talking with parents and monitoring for symptoms during the course of each child’s stay with us. We increase assessment during flu season. We notify parents when a child does not feel well to help prevent an illness from worsening or spreading.

    Medications

We have strict policies as to administering medications to your child.

    Emergencies

We are serious about training for fires and lockdown situations. We have an emergency evacuation plan in place. We don’t just have a plan, we regularly test and train so our teachers and children are always ready to act.

    Qualifications

We have dedicated, friendly personnel who are trained in child development, early-childhood education or a related field. We conduct criminal background checks to ensure trustworthy staff and passionate teachers provide the best care and education for your child. Our staff and teachers are trained in first aid and CPR.

    Feeding

All perishable food is refrigerated. Our menu is carefully planned so your child eats nutritious foods. We welcome breastfeeding mothers.

    Authorisation

Only pre-approved people identified during our registration process may collect your child. We run an additional password system to accommodate those rare occasions when you might need your child to be collected by somebody else.

    • Parent Involvement Committee

Parent participation is the cornerstone of our nursery life. This structure promotes a community atmosphere and mutual trust.

We understand parental involvement is a crucial component to the success of a child’s educational achievement. Parents are their child’s most important teacher. Research has proven that children are more successful learners when their parents are actively involved in their learning, both at home and at school. To support parents as partners, we encourage families to be involved in their child’s educational process. We offer an open-door policy, allowing parents to visit and participate in our programmes at all times and fostering a sense of openness and inclusion.

Seaward Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) allows parents to participate in the life of the nursery by planning events that benefit the overall quality of the provision. Some of the initiatives include: networking with other families, learning opportunities for families such as workshops and trainings, special events, teacher recognition and development, community service projects, nursery enhancements, classroom volunteering opportunities and fundraising.

    • Holidays at Seaward

When Big School’s out, Seaward is open for all children before their fifth birthday, including school-goers and those who don’t attend Seaward during the rest of the year.

School Holiday Programme is available subject to availability to all families currently enrolled at Seaward. We welcome those 4 year olds who have left for Big School or the younger siblings of the children currently attending Seaward for an eclectic combination of outdoor or indoor activities. Holidays at Seaward provide opportunities for your child to spend time with friends, new and old, as well as with the Seaward teachers. All younger children are welcome with their parents for play-and-stay sessions subject to availability.
